- FAQ What is the difference between the PTSA and the Foundation? The Parent Teacher Student Association (PTSA) is a organization dedicated to making a meaningful impact on individual student enrichment & class environments (micro-impacts), while the Woodside High School Foundation (WHSF) drives broad, systemic enrichment opportunities across the entire Woodside Community (macro impacts).
2. What is the PTSA's main focus? Focus is fundraising for the following:

“Apples for Teachers” mini grants to enhance the classroom experience with helpful resources like annual subscriptions, new equipment, additional books to elevate classroom libraries, and more!

Create opportunities for Class fundraising for Jr. / Sr. Prom, Grad Night, Buy-a-Brick, and more!
4. What if I don't have any extra time—should I still join? Yes, your membership goes to student enrichments such as scholarships, lower prom and grad night tickets, classroom & teaching supplies, staff goodies and coffee carts.
5. If I don't have time or prefer not to volunteer, how else can I help? You can donate amounts to specific programs, donate to the general fund, and donate bought items for our concessions.
6. What Board positions are available? Vice President and Parliamentary
7. What Board positions are available for training now, for start next school year? Secretary, Treasurer and President
8. How does my child benefit from the PTSA? Through the Teacher Grant Program, teacher are able to buy extra supplies, subscriptions, chemistry sets, software, books and sporting equipment. All seniors who are PTSA members can apply for our scholarships. 5 - $1,000.00 scholarships were awarded. Through the help of the PTSA, prom and grad night tickets cost much less.

10. Does my child need to be in Leadership in order to attend/join? No, not at all. Any student may join and it is encouraged.
11. Is this a good way to meet my school community? Absolutely! This is a low pressure way of meeting your amazing community!
12. Do I need to read the PTSA newsletters? Most parents want to know what is going on with their child and the school. This is one of the best way for a quick and complete way to be up-to-date all in one place.
13. What if I am not receiving class-specific information emails? Leave an at whsptsa199@gmail.com mentioning what Class of graduation for your student and best email for you.
